The Bessify PCS · Engineered and manufactured in Estonia

Our power electronics.
Our firmware.
Our responsibility

Bessify designs and manufactures the power conversion system at the heart of its battery. We own the power-stage design, control electronics and firmware that govern how energy moves between the battery and the grid.

That ownership matters throughout the system’s life: understanding its behaviour, maintaining its controls, adapting its operation and taking responsibility for the engineering behind it.

European ownership

Control throughout the system’s life

European financing and cybersecurity requirements are placing greater emphasis on the ownership, control and long-term support of critical energy technology.

Bessify designs and manufactures its PCS in Estonia. We own the power electronics design, control hardware and firmware, giving us direct responsibility for how the PCS operates, how changes are made and how it is maintained throughout its life.

These choices put Bessify’s architecture in line with the direction of European energy security policy.

Access to finance

The choice of PCS matters

European restrictions on EU-backed funding for projects using inverters from high-risk suppliers make ownership and control a financing consideration. The implications for a storage project depend on the applicable funding conditions and supplier assessment.

Bessify’s ownership of its PCS design and firmware gives buyers a clear basis for examining this part of their system.

Cybersecurity · Responsibility across the system

One manufacturer responsible for the battery and its PCS

EU cybersecurity requirements make ongoing security support a purchasing consideration.

Bessify designs both the battery controls and the PCS, including their firmware and interfaces. That puts responsibility for investigating issues and validating changes across the system with one manufacturer.

We hold the files

Hardware

Our schematics and PCB fabrication files give us control over how the PCS is built, serviced and revised.

We hold the source

Firmware

Our source code gives us control over the operating logic and how changes are implemented and tested.

Designed together

System integration

The PCS, battery management and safety architecture are developed together, with their interfaces designed into the system.

Safety and control

Protection is part of the architecture

Power conversion operates within the battery’s permitted conditions. Bessify’s safety architecture includes an independent hardware stop path, so a protective stop does not depend on the supervisory software or a cloud connection.

Local authority

The control architecture is designed around locally authorised access, authenticated and logged actions, and protection of safety-critical settings from remote changes.

Core operation stays local

Core control and protection functions are designed to operate without a cloud service. External communications support the asset’s operation within those local controls.
